Welcome to LCAD

Since 1962 the Lincoln Council on Alcoholism and Drugs (LCAD) has been your link to alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention, intervention and treatment resources in Lincoln and Lancaster County. We are one of 7 prevention centers in the state of Nebraska funded specifically to coordinate and plan for regional alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention. LCAD is a designated Prevention Center for Lincoln/Lancaster County through Region V Systems providing community resources and information and referral services. LCAD is a Region V Systems agency approved to provide Adult Substance Abuse Evaluations.

LCAD is located at 914 L Street (intersection of 9th and Capital Parkway). Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, opening at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays after staff meeting. Phone number is 475-2694, fax number is 475-2699.

What We Do

  • Community Group Initiative: developing a positive response to underage drinking and substance abuse issues in Lancaster County.
  • Empower Youth to build leadership skills, make a difference in our community, and have fun being drug-free.
  • Assist Adults with alcohol or drug problems by providing evaluation services and identifying community resources.
  • Resource Library including educational print materials and videos available to the community.
  • Host the Nebraska Department of Education curriculum library.
