Evaluation Process:
We set up evaluations Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to do the initial paperwork. LCAD is located at 914 L Street at the intersection of 9th and L Street/Rosa Parks Way.

(based on household income). College students are
offered a reduced price of $60.00.
The initial appointment will take
45-60 minutes. At this time a fee will be assessed
and collected and all paperwork will be completed. An

may take 1 to 1 1/2 hours. After 5 to 7 working days
from this interview, the evaluation results will be
distributed according to the releases the client has
requested.

About LCAD's Evaluation Program:
The mission of the LCAD Evaluation Program is to provide a community resource for independent substance abuse evaluations available on a sliding fee scale, assisting any individuals in need of substance abuse services to find appropriate resources in the community. The program is not affiliated with any treatment program. LCAD adheres to standardized admission evaluation criteria for adults developed by Region V in making recommendations and referrals.
Alcoholism and other drug dependencies have biological, social, and psychological implications. Factors which are examined to assist in an accurate assessment are: evidence of problems related to alcohol/drug use in social, emotional, legal, financial, employment and/or health areas; concerns from family/friends; quantity and frequency of use; psychological expectations regarding the effects of drugs; and general personality dynamics.
An evaluation is required prior to entering a substance abuse treatemnt program. Evaluations are in-depth and objective. Clients complete written tests, as well as participate in an intensive structured interview. Collateral interviews are conducted according to signed releases to verify legal and other information. Other issues which may impact, or be impacted by, substance abuse (such as multiple needs, danger to self and/or others, domestic violence, and dual diagnosis, etc.) are identified, as well as extent of substance abuse and psycho-social needs. Recommendations for appropriate community intervention are then made. All evaluations are conducted under federal and state confidentiality guidelines and information is released only as authorized by written client consent.
