Why get involved? In a nutshell, the world is run by the people who show up.
Policy-makers represent you, the people. In order for representative democracy to work, elected officials need to know what you think. Unless you tell them with a letter or phone call or personal testimony, they simply don't know about your concerns or issues. Whether you work alone or with others you can make a difference in things that are important to you, whether that means changing policy at a local, state or national level or simply advocating for changes through education and awareness of issues.
One voice can make a difference when that voice is passionate and backed by data or personal experiences. When joined with other like-minded voices, change can happen!
